Sense, coherence, poetic and sensitivity. There are four words that dare to define the imaginary sound of this Barcelona nicknamed Nühn. On a kind of permanent synthetic fog, to the Icelandic, they fall, like tree leaves in autumn, with a Julio Gutierrez that approaches to a point beyond Boards of Canada, Múm or even Burial or Kode9. Nothing here is easy at first look, but it is only a vague illusion of what we will find after scratching its beautiful gray skin. It all starts with "Today", an environmental intro, something cosmic, supported by a beautiful, human and sadly piano - an instrument on which the entire album rises - that gives way to the delicate and highly organic "Brittle" - in which he sings and does it well - and "The Figther" - perhaps the best song - in which Nühn is more open, warm and almost club. In “That Lost Life” the futuristic mystery and dub, the percussive bankruptcy and the sound of the creak of the urban soul and in the round, melodic and adorable “More Fast Than The Wind, The Time” seems to stand the time, based on flashes of synthetic light that blinds us and invites us to an internal journey in which there is only room for hope.
In short, a very personal, outsider and sensitive work - with strong Jamesian influence - in which digital melancholy sweeps a field of mutant poppies in which there is still room for the miracle and the fascinating.
